Very folk tale + catch-22 + magical realism + historical commentary

On point, but hard for me to suspend my cultural annoyance at what seems to be the height of pretension by the protagonist. In the moments I can do so, it is crystal clear (in a messy, dizzying, postmodern way) that this character encapsulates the existential, almost physiologic confusion I’ve been swirling around in since the election. Important read if I’m going to read more in this area.
