I'm gradually speeding up. Enjoyment factor also going up. Getting to religious parts but thankfully, it's not so annoying.

Completed a two more chapters. Stopping to read Iliad a bit was a good idea. Seems much of Thoreau's logic is firmly based on the stories of the past. Hopefully, I'll be able to finish Iliad one day.

Lol, who compares a mountain of weeds to a mountain of dead soldiers, drawing connections to Troy's Prince Hektor? Well, it motivated me to finally read the Iliad, so well played, Thoreau.

Learning the Greek alphabet and it's mythology. Could not make progress quickly enough, for enjoyment, without the help of Kindle software.

I was originally reading this to Aria but I feel like the accent used is outside of my understanding so I sound ignorant and lost. Will probably read more colloquial heavy English books and give it another try in a few years. Love you Aria!

Deciding to investigate cultural references a bit more thoroughly as opposed to only reading a wikipedia entry. Reading Ben Jonson's Volpone due to this so progress has slowed. Worth it.

Very interesting story on deception and gullible people. Should be a required reading to adolescent teens.

Not sure why I found this difficult to read before. I guess the art of the run-on sentence was lost on me at the time.

Getting through it again. Going to hit the boring parts soon. Hopefully it won't feel so brutal this time around.

--6% Hoping to finish the book regardless if I start reading classical literature. Learning the complex grammar is a good mental exercise.
--5% Probably not going to end up using this as I had hoped but it has acted as motivator to better my understanding of Venetan.
