Don’t get me wrong, it’s brilliant and important, but it’s probably not for me. I keep thinking in my head “well it’s more complicated than that” or “ that’s not really what happened.” Also, like the nerd I am, I keep wishing there were footnotes so I could read these ideas from the original source.
But this book is simple, it’s written for kids. Maybe I should check out I. X. Kendi’s original

Something I pick up when I’m feeling reflective. Who knows if I’ll actually finish it but this resonates with me, religion that cares more about Justice than sex or maintaining power, cares about this world as much as ancient purity. So I keep reading and hopefully get inspired.

I waited too long to pick this up. So many recommended this, too many to thank, but I’m remembering my mother who told me it was her favorite book of the year. It spoke to her, and I can see why, she loved books about strong women. I’m thinking of you mother, and I’m grateful.

Finished Agamemnon. Damn the Greeks were dismal, but this is an intriguing story.

Brilliant but for some reason not as engrossing as “ visit from the Goon Squad” the sorta prequel to this one.
Or maybe I’m just more stressed. Who knows. Can’t wait to dig in again spring break!

Not surprisingly it’s difficult to remember who everyone is. Also Are Ruin and Persistence capitalized because they are personified? It’s a strange but fascinating look into a people at once so alike but so foreign all at once.

Just as thrilling and fun as I remembered, and in finding many more details I didn't remember. Onward! Just got to Bree.

Reading out loud to a class means reading at most 8 pages a day. But we are hitting the climax soon!
