Reading on Hoopla so I don't actually know what page I'm on. Also, while I do adore how easily I can "flip" back to pronunciations, I'm not feeling much movement in the book.

Speaking of focus, I'm lacking it here for reading in May so I'm falling back on my Hoopla access to Chronicle books (thanks, SF Public!) to boost my reading.

Whew! That last one was almost exhausting.

This is a lot thicker than I was expecting. Fingers crossed that it'll be easy for me to get into.

Good news! All my book club peeps of Sac State origins are retired so the Sac State Library copy of the next book club read is alllll miiiine! (LOL, only one book club peep ever really used the library to any degree so I don't know why I was worried. Hahahahaha!)

Totally spotting where the author really could have used an editor with basic Sacramento knowledge...

Amazingly, this is actually starting to pick up!

Whew is this book boring but I am grateful for those blank pages between chapters.

I don't hate it yet!

Everything else is notes, so I'm out!

My recent acquisition of a San Francisco Public Library card has somewhat overwhelmed my e-book reading options (taking into consideration my concurrent print book reading options). And yet! And yet! LOL, I want to take advantage of at least some of those 30 Hoopla borrows per month. So more Star Trek comics for meeee!

Ugh oh, now I'm starting the section where the author is analyzing specific pieces. Let's just say I'm doing my best to let the words flow over me ^__^

I did have to roll my eyes at that "think about it long enough until your brain comes to the universal of it all" bit.

Not sure about the art as living organism thing but I think I get the pull and push action. Maybe.

I was in the mood to try this again, so here I am. I skipped the introduction but re-read chapter one - all about art as metaphor.

I cannot remember how this came to my attention but it did, and I was even able to borrow it from the public library!

Well, that was slightly not what I was expecting...

This is the second book club book in a row where I think the blurb completely fails to correctly set my expectation content wise.

Say it with me now - this months book club selection. I'm trying not to get my hopes up due to the use of the words darkly comic in the description.

This is due in, like a minute. TBD if I get in line to borrow the ebook again (it's not reading well for me in that format).

I picked this up from the new book display in my library last summer. All because of the purple cover!

Don't even ask me how many times I've renewed this book. Alas, it seems like now there's a certain amount of people behind wanting to read it so I just might have to return it (without finishing it).

Re-requested this so I can restart and hopefully finish reading this time.

When you're afraid to say it's all a bit snoozy since there's the slightest chance you could run into one of the authors...
