I'm 100 pages in and I give up. There may be readers who want the minute details of the geography of Russia, and the communities or tribes in the general vicinity (none of which have anything to do with the "story." As a geography lesson Russka might pass muster; as an historical novel it's a total bore. With 800+ pages left to go, I'm getting off of the train.

A little too YA for me.

Really enjoyed this one. Just the right balance of court intrigue, and personal foibles. I recommend The Winter Palace to anyone who enjoys historical fiction,

This book does a better job of explaining the horrible state in which this country currently lives, and how we got here than any other theory I've heard.

My very late initial introduction to Toni Morrison. Found it provocative and evocative. Looking forward to reading more of her work.
