I'm stuck on this one. I want to finish it but I also feel like it's moving so slowly. Karen Russell excels in the short form; I'm not sure I really feel her prose in this longer format.

Why am I doing this to myself? I thought I could handle this but I'm not sure if I can. The effects on the children -- oof.

This book is stressing me out so much but for the life of me, I can’t stop reading it.

This is damn good so far. Charlie Jane Anders sure knows how to build a world. When I saw she had a YA sci-fi book coming out, I was a little nervous. Would it be as good as her other novels I’ve read? Would it live up to my high expectations? So far ... oh yes. It definitely meets my expectations.

I am really enjoying this book so far. The characters are engrossing, and the plot moves swiftly. If only Schwab didn't move back and forth between flashbacks so quickly.
