The tone is defensive almost. I don’t see why the author has to defend every choice about every story they chose to include. Just tell us the stories. If I didn’t believe your ethos I wouldn’t be reading the book.

I don’t like this chapter where she equates sex positivity and compulsory sexuality.

I don’t like that all the “good guys” seem to be the ones who come from money and privilege (Except Brad).

For a book that has the word nonbinary in the subtitle it sure does say the phrase “both genders” a lot.

I love how Kuang is describing Letty- as the naive and helpless white feminist who thinks respectability and education will save her.

Little slow so far

The teens- especially Nick- talk more like 12 year olds than 16 year old. Like all the hijinks with Nick trying to be an extraordinary feel so childish.
