The rating for this plummeted in the span of three pages. It was a fantastic story until she decided to get knocked up. Motherhood stories are personally not my cup of tea, so much so, to the point where I lost all respect and admiration for Circe. Let's hope it changes direction again before the end of the book.

And it fucking pisses me off. It's such a one sided portrayal where sex is absolutely not. Why does the waitress or clerk choose sleep with an old stranger, do we ever find out what her motivations were, what she found attractive or thrilling about the encounter? No. She exists solely as a trophy to be won by a man who has nothing to offer her.

Such a typical thing in books by crusty old white men, one of the main men casually hooks up with a woman, maybe the waitress or maybe the front desk clerk, thoughtless and poignant.

Well so far this book is fluctuating between 1 and 2 stars.
Two words: Tumblr personified.

I ask myself why I'm reading this and I can't remember. I hated the first book and this book has already committed YA genre atrocities.
Everything will be fine if I act normal and go about my daily life. Yes, because that is always the solution. Studies say that if you ignore bad things, they do in fact go away.
I would diiieeee without you. Mhmm, I would enjoy reading that. Agonizing death due to lack of romance.
