I HAVE FINALLY FINISHED THIS BOOK

Only 39% left. This feels like a really dragged out picture book, just without the pictures and triple the pompous, grown-up voice of reason and fables. There is so much philosophy in here that it should be classified as non-fiction.

I think I'd rather read it in Spanish. The writing is a little too simple, and it's really rather boring. Very predictable, and I have a feeling everything's set up so at the end there's a sickly sweet happy ending, complete with 'and the moral of the story is...' I really thought I'd like this book; I guess I'll get in the spirit of omens and recognize my surprising avoidance to get started as a sign.

This book has already broken my heart.

In some way, I like the fact that if you go back and reread, the pieces click together, and the connections are so blatantly made.

I think that it's really interesting how the author portrays Gray's internal struggle on whether he should avoid or assist Jess. I wonder what role he played in her past...

I'm actually rereading this book, because it's one of my favourites.

I read a review on Goodreads for The Sea of Tranquility that recommended this book, because the writing and angst was similar.

I love the prose! But the book is overwhelming sometimes.
