I could not get into this book

I really wanted to read this, I had heard it referenced so much. However, it was a disappointing and difficult read - with all the metaphors I eventually found I did not care enough to turn the page. Maybe I’ll tackle it at a later date.

I got bored 59% of the way through

Could not finish - I got bored with the story.

I saw this book on one of those "must read" lists. I am very happy that I took the time to read it. While it starts a bit slow, it draws you into the characters and by mid-novel I found it nice to spend time with each of the characters. It is a beautifully written novel set at the end of latter part of WW2. It made me once again realize all that we take for granted and how painful, and senseless war really is.

Was good but I ran out of time - will attempt to read at a later date.

Could not read. Just became too ugly of a character

good novel - but I can see why it has been removed from curriculum lists - it may be a classic - but the language is no longer accepted
