I have tried reading this, but have been unsuccessful on several occasions, literally throughout my life. So I’m 3/4 of the way through this audiobook. I was not sure at first but have stuck with it and I have grown quite fond of it all and the quite brilliant recurring characters. I think I’ll miss it when it’s done because I feel like we have spent time together. We’ve bonded.

So good! Excellent writing and the twists in the tail are very satisfying.

It’s one of those books where you have to let go of literary conventions and get on board with the writer’s inventions. It would be easy to dip out, but I’ve stayed. So let’s see.

She’s met the Italian so it’s started to pick up and is holding my interest. I became very annoyed at the story’s announcement on ‘coloured’ people’s permission to shop the store. I thought good God they treated people so bad! What would make a group so hateful? It requires research into the retarded mental capacity that lacks a proper level of emotional content in their compassion.

Male and female are not strictly genders they have become more like status symbols. Not in a consumerist sense, but a means of basic survival in the worst case scenario and generally for social standing in order that everyday is not a stress filled nightmare.

It’s okay, it’s just starting to kind of get going and I’m hoping that the subject narratives will become more intimate.
