Allison Mann is 40% done with Dungeon Crawler Carl (Dungeon Crawler Carl, #1)

I have started and stopped this a few times now. It has come highly recommended/loved by many friends/acquaintances. It’s not that it’s not* enjoyable but I just am not totally connecting with it or the characters (so many new ones given the nature of the game) or perhaps it’s just not what I’m looking for in a book. Not sure I am invested enough to continue with the very long series.

Not sure why I have stuck with this series... #2 and 3 were better but this one is just dragging without Casteel in it (much yet), and Poppy is annoying/naive as always, writing is repetitive and simple as it always has been. I am torn with my desire to see the series to its completion or give up on this now.
