The reverse-harem is finally moving toward something I like. I don't really like the whole Anhor, Dernor etc because I'm used to menage where they are all equal, but we're talking about "beasts" and hierarchy so I get it. I'm not sure Blaec fits in anymore though.

I can't with they hypocrisy of these characters. So what if the Sunrunners swore not to kill with their gifts? They never faced an enemy like this! Would Tilal rather that all of Goddess Keep was burnt alive to uphold that oath? How many were spared because Andry fought? I hate that he's portrayed as the villain when it's his family that started the feud all those years ago, not him!

I don't like Erna at all. I don't trust her, not after Summer's tale and when she didn't help Zoey.

I think I realized my problem with this book. The author skips parts. Piper called her brother a gazillion times? Well, the reader didn't know that. It wasn't told. So the reader assumes she just didn't care. These books are full of holes like that.

Reading this for work.
Chapter 3 and still no mention of her brother, after she saw her father was dead. Bah.

So this is the story of a boy who blackmailed a girl into leaving her town, her family, her friends, pulling a "if I can't have her noone can".
And now I'm supposed to buy that the girl still wants the guy, ten years later.
Oh and she uses oil paint even though it's terrible for her sister's lung. Her chronically ill sister's lungs.

The author is losing me. I'm really having a hard time buying a relationship between Puck and Gillian, thus far.
He bonded with her under false pretense, he basically kidnapped her, threatened her, broke her bones, left her for centuries in a strange country with no friends, no family, no mean to contact anyone and the threat of her guards killing everybody she might be interested in.
Not good. At all.
