Very interesting worldbuilding, but why do I have a feeling this will have more dress up and love island drama than worldbuilding or assassinating or politics

My biggest complaint is still that so many things aren't said to us and because of that I can't even try to predict what's gonna happen next. The characters are delightful and I want to know what happens next, but I can't just read with my brain completely turned off, I am not having fun.

Now that I've caught up with all the new published novella collections, I can finally start my The Last King of Faerie preparation re-read of The Dark Artifices trilogy

With everyone talking so much about this I expected higher quality of writing, but nevertheless the unique premise makes this really entertaining

This would have highly benefited from an editor. I refuse to believe one was in any way, shape or form involved with this.

The writing would be just very mediocre and unmemorable if it weren't for those awfuly confusing discriptions of action scenes which actually just make it borderline incomprehensible.

I am interested in the daddy-daughter dynamic tho, so I'll continue with the reading. Begrudgingly.

I am still the biggest sucker for The Circle origin stories

As a future pediatrician, this book was on my radar for a while now and I started it since I'll graduate soon. No time better than present 💪

P.S. there is really no such thing as a "right brain" or "left brain", but I do like the simplification of this concept for the benefit of all parents reading this book

It's always the same with me and Ali Hazelwood books. I pick them up as a quick and dirty palate cleanser read when I need to be cheered up, but because her every main character is a STEM girlie with very real STEM girlie problems, I always end up relating to them way too hard and feeling absolutely devastated.

And yes, that's currently happening in a fucking vampire book as well.

This feels like I'm reading the first Hunger games book all over again, and that just feels so damn good

An absolute masterpiece, I almost don't want to be done with reading it...

Too many characters, too many plot points and not enough time to develop any of them past the most shallow level and with an infernal clock ticking in the background as a reminder that the whole Grishaverse should be wrapped up in a nice tight bow at the end of this installment.

Ngl this Kaz scene is the first time I got excited while reading this. I think it's kind of all over the place and dragging on unnecessarily because of it.

I was recently looking at my physical tbr and I realized that I never actually finished this series even though I wanted to. I know I'm like 10 000 years late to the party, but at least I finally got here!

The beginning was a bit shaky for me, especially with some of the pun choices (stop trying to combine pout and smirk into one word pleaseee), but I am really enjoying it now!

I still think Beach read was better because it had more character and moral complexity, which meant I had to overcome my initial disappointment with the shallowness of this story. But who knows, it might surprise me just yet!!

I think I will have to accept that there will be no definitive answers by the end of this story, but the dread that sits in my throat at that prospect is really, really heavy.
