As a future pediatrician, this book was on my radar for a while now and I started it since I'll graduate soon. No time better than present 💪

P.S. there is really no such thing as a "right brain" or "left brain", but I do like the simplification of this concept for the benefit of all parents reading this book

It's always the same with me and Ali Hazelwood books. I pick them up as a quick and dirty palate cleanser read when I need to be cheered up, but because her every main character is a STEM girlie with very real STEM girlie problems, I always end up relating to them way too hard and feeling absolutely devastated.

And yes, that's currently happening in a fucking vampire book as well.

This feels like I'm reading the first Hunger games book all over again, and that just feels so damn good

An absolute masterpiece, I almost don't want to be done with reading it...

Too many characters, too many plot points and not enough time to develop any of them past the most shallow level and with an infernal clock ticking in the background as a reminder that the whole Grishaverse should be wrapped up in a nice tight bow at the end of this installment.

Ngl this Kaz scene is the first time I got excited while reading this. I think it's kind of all over the place and dragging on unnecessarily because of it.

I was recently looking at my physical tbr and I realized that I never actually finished this series even though I wanted to. I know I'm like 10 000 years late to the party, but at least I finally got here!

The beginning was a bit shaky for me, especially with some of the pun choices (stop trying to combine pout and smirk into one word pleaseee), but I am really enjoying it now!

I still think Beach read was better because it had more character and moral complexity, which meant I had to overcome my initial disappointment with the shallowness of this story. But who knows, it might surprise me just yet!!

I think I will have to accept that there will be no definitive answers by the end of this story, but the dread that sits in my throat at that prospect is really, really heavy.

I enjoyed immensely the first half of this book, but this second one is truly making me feel like I am all of a sudden on a high speed train and I cannot read without the feeling of something heavy sitting on my chest.

Another cry fest, like I haven't just finished crying over The Long Game.

I did start this because I needed more Ilya. I did start this because I needed more from Ottawa Centaurs (all of them are my baby girls). It is a 10/10 story right now, BUT...

TELL ME WHY did I fucking cry 5 TIMES while reading this since yesterday. I feel like I'm going fucking crazy.

HOW did we go from that first Shane/Ilya book to THIS? HOW is it possible that I am enjoying a book about an already established relationship MORE than the getting-together book? I HATE established relationships.

I blame all my emotional anguish on that first sentence in Chapter 2.

While this book did start as a joke in the second Critical Role D&D campaign, I am beyond happy with the fact that it is actually a very well written and totally delicious romantasy.

I think it can be read and enjoyed without having seen any of the Critical Role, but I do think it would have been a good idea to print a map of Wildemount in it, to make the journey less confusing for the newcomers.

I do have some questions which I am hoping to get answers to even though there isn't much left of the book, but just like Evangeline I will remain hopeful!

I just want everyone to know that my heart just shattered into a million pieces as soon as Evangeline realized the location of the mirth stone...

This is so fun and exciting, but I really thought Evangeline would have THIS figured out by now. (although I understand: being bandaged by a hot guy can addle your brain pretty severely so I guess I forgive her hahaah)
