Discovered after I started that this book has around 1100 pages. On the kindle that is not obvious until after 4 hours reading you see the progress has barely changed.

Just twigged that this book is 1200 pages.

When I first started reading it I doubted I would get far but I have now read 1/6th of It and look forward to picking it up every day.

Dead John Williams is 45% done with Map of a Nation: A Biography of the Ordnance Survey

It’s a chunky book, 432 pages, nothing spare in the writing, but interesting, and nice how it weaves contemporary history into the various stages of this monumental quest.
