Tedious. If I owned it, I would eventually finish it, but I’ll be returning it to the library.

I should have quit after the first two pages. I kept reading, hoping the intro regarding the “raped or tortured” Cambodian women who experienced “psychosomatic” blindness had some relevance to the ensuing story and not an exploitive tactic. I may keep reading to prove my suspicions wrong.

I’m finding the book difficult to read because it seems like a private conversation that alienates the reader.
