Everyone needs to LISTEN to this book as JD Vance tells his own story. Captivating, powerful, and eye opening. WARNING: There is a LOT of language, but it explains the hillbilly culture so much better and I’m glad he didn’t sensor the truth of the matter.

Wow. This is amazing so far. Such an eye opener of the life that JD Vance lived. I highly recommend the audio book so you can hear his voice.

A little slow moving at first but, as always, Steinbeck tells a good story all the way through.

I absolutely loved this short book. The fable story packed with lessons was excellent.

As a huge fan of the film, I was so excited to read this book. And even though the book and film are so different, I really do still love them both. SPOILER: The fact that Hammond and Malcolm die in the book was interesting, but not shocking. Their book characters were not very likable, whereas in the movies they were loved. Can’t wait to read the next book.

Short yet powerful read. Thick with scripture and so much to study and reflect upon. A much needed reminder for any believer, regardless of age or stage in spiritual walk.
