This feels a little heavy handed, but I can't tell if that's on purpose or not.

There is a lot of good stuff here, but it is very bogged down with world building that is not necessary for the story. I feel like this could have been left out, or put in the back of the book as extra material. Also, the world building we DO need isn't explained until halfway through??

I am almost three hours in, and man it is very hard to keep up with what is going on. And who is who. And how this world works. I don't know if my ADHD butt can do this. lol

Immediately hilarious. I love this so much.

You know, I don't necessarily mind age-gaps for adults who meet as adults. But... this girl sounds so. immature. Like fine for her early twenties, but this man is closer to forty. I am not sure how I feel about this. Especially in a modern day, no weird fantasy rules situation.

I have been burned by books like this before. I'm not going to look because I actually don't want to be spoiled this time, but... could I possibly hope for a happy ending here?

Finally some good effing food. I have been in such a slump lately and this is breaking it.
