I understand what McCarthy is doing with this, but I don’t *like* it.

New Year’s resolution: stop reading books recommended on Reddit.

I don’t think I’ll read another book by Lauren Groff. The florid writing does nothing for me. Especially when all it’s talking about is what the characters are doing in the bedroom AND bathroom. I should have expected this after reading The Vaster Wilds and not liking it either.

My god the prose is so over the top and ridiculously flowery to the point that this book is almost unreadable.
