I’ve reached the part where everyone is asking Keiko why she’s not yet married or how people look down on her because of her job. I wanted to laugh and cry because this is so real. Hugs, Keiko. You are enough. 😅

Ahh, this book. It’s like pieces of my childhood captured in novel-verse. The myths of my youth, martial law years…I pause for a moment to gather my thoughts.

It’s taking a while to pick up…aside from a busy life, the story so far is not as compelling as mentioned by others. Will keep trudging along and see how it goes.

DNF at chapter 5

Set in North Texas with a character named Johanna, which was a surprise. So far, so good. The descriptions are so good that to me it reads like a movie.

3.5 it was pretty funny, and made me want to say bloody blank all the time. One of the things I enjoy about reading books by authors from different countries - new words, new mindsets.

Is it bad that I can almost predict where this story is heading? 🤔 Eh, during these crazy quarantine days, light reading might do the trick. 😁
