Mind-bogglingly boring so far.

Going to start this read off by saying fuck the publisher for releasing all new covers for this series right before the fourth book was released so you literally cannot buy it in a cover matching the original trilogy. A real bitch move.

Literally what does that mean??

Not a fan of the way half the character names start with B.

I’m so tired of listening to these mc argue, they fight like children😭

The premise holding up this plot seems reallll flimsy; I’m hoping it’ll be fun enough to make up for it.

This book could be half its length if Pratchett could stay on plot for more than half a page at a time.

I’m already remembering why I’ve never made it through a Terry Pratchett novel, the man loves a tangent.

God fucking damn it, the author HAD to make it weird. I haven’t invested nearly 2,000 pages into this series for you to MAKE IT WEIRD NOW.

You’re telling me this dude just learned simple conversational Japanese by chatting with his dad’s girlfriends, but he can say stuff like, “Even rural parts of Japan were industrialized in the early Meiji period” in Japanese?🤨

I’m actually having such a hard time following the dialogue in this book??? It feels like all the characters are speaking in code or something.

This went from pro-science vibes in the first book to religious cult vibes real quick.

The awkward, obligatory “how is this inter-species romance going to work anatomically” conversation is never not funny to me.

If you’re gonna publish an English-language book with entire phrases & exchanges in another language, you have to put footnote translations or something. I love having a Puerto Rican mmc but I’d like to know what he’s saying please 😭
