Dang. This book is great so far. I’ve read this much in like one pool day. I love the banter and humor

Emily is on page 105 of 606 of SPQR: A History of Ancient Rome
My friend GK called this book a “snooze fest” and I laughed him off. As of now, I also think it’s a little bit of a snooze fest. Each sentence is so so long and drawn out, very difficult to stay focused at first. However, now I think I’m starting to get into it more. It is interesting comparing Roman History to American history - can’t wait to see where my reflections go.

Can I be any less in love with this book? By far, my favorite of Emily Henry’s books - and also inspiring me to consider book editing or looking working for the copy section of the student newspaper.
The chemistry between the protagonists has so much energy. I love the mild enemies to lovers plot. They mesh so well and I might be in love. Please. The coffee shop considering the name “some like it hot” lol.

Emily is on page 223 of 418 of Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City
I am reading Evicted for a writing seminar focused on community engagement, specifically regarding housing equity. While writing about the content in this novel, I am also volunteering at a homeless shelter. This novel is allowing me to gain more perspective regarding housing equity, allowing me to understand how people end up where they are.

I am truly enjoying this book so far. I love the comparisons between all three of the you g women, across French Revolution, WW1, and WW2 time periods. Men running away to fight and be patriots, most for another country that they do not even call home. All three women are passionate about what they do and strive for independence. I am excited to keep reading!

I really like it so far. I love how the author made a jellyfish such an important symbol in the book. She also writes in a way for you to really understand.
