I have a feeling I know exactly where this book is going. Not a bad thing. I am liking it a whole lot more than Ape House.

I like the idea of experiencing the book through Jacks eyes, but I would like some POV from Ma. I think it would add more depth to the story if we could see through her eyes.

I've almost finished this and I don't feel I understand Evangeline any better. Equal parts perfect/annoying.

Roy writes beautifully, but I can't say I'm loving this, that is more to do with characters & circumstances though.

I'm finally up to Penelope. Can I finish it tonight? Despite no punctuation I'm finding this the easiest chapter to read so far.

This is slow going at times, but I'm loving the writing. And I think I'm going to have to do some research about wolves in 1200s. I'd like to know more.

It's all a bit 'descent into madness' that being said I am enjoying the book. And I thought Hardy persecuted his characters but Zola isn't much better. The only difference here is that I don't particularly like any of these characters
