Part of a Halloween book swap at work

Bedtime story with Original Monster. Accidentally made him Brummie, seems the only accent I can do 🤣

I feel like this book hasn't seen an editor. Maybe it's to enhance the authentic and chaotic nature of a drug addict author, but it reads all wrong. Not sure whether to continue, which is a shame as I'm sure there's more interesting moments in it.

I normally find comedian autobiographies an easy read, they satisfy my need for a laugh and to be nosey at the same time. But I'm finding this one difficult and slightly boring. I get that the premise is his life around food, but he could lay off speaking down about "fat" people even if he says he was one.

I'm putting this one down. I've given it 100 pages and I'm not hooked. Maybe I'll pick it up again but for now it's not worth the energy of carrying the massive book around!

I'm beginning to understand it more, and maybe the obsession with attractiveness of the characters has more to the plot than I thought. It's 3am, so I know it's a good book.

It's written well, and I know I'm going to race through it, but every mention of how attractive someone is or how skinny someone is and how they link together is just wrong, I hate that this is seen as a normal message in so many books. Why is it necessary? And its not just the characters opinion of themselves, its clearly how the author sees the world as all characters are described based on their attractiveness 1st

Really not enjoying this. Putting it down to read something else
