this is okay but i feel no desire to keep going, it’s a short book luckily

the first 25% of a leigh bardugo book is gibberish to me this happened with six of crows too

i was really excited to read this but the writing is… not great

i am really enjoying this !

a quarter through and yeah the audiobook is really bad and it’s influencing how i feel about the story, i can’t tell if the writing is bad or the audiobook is just making it seem bad - gonna switch to the physical copy

truthfully this still hasn’t fully grabbed me

yeah i’m still not vibing with any of the characters unfortunately - world building and plot is absolutely top tier thankfully

the world building is really fantastic and i’m enjoying the writing, just struggling to connect to the characters so far

i’m enjoying this but i do wish we were only seeing from cyrus’ pov because when we hear from other people i feel like it detracts from the whole theme of the book and really takes me out of it

really liking this but it’s starting to feel very white saviour-y? like why is this white feminist girl becoming the face of the liberation of the kwen people ? considering how obvious the real world allegory to race is in this book it feels a bit in poor taste idk.

i can’t remember the last time i was this obsessed with a book

sabaa tahir’s ember quartet is not only one of the best ya fantasy series i’ve ever read, but one of the best series i’ve ever read in general. and barely a fraction into this book i can tell this will be the same. this world is a real gem

not too impressed so far, doesn’t seem to have the same charm as yours truly

has murakami ever actually interacted with a real woman before

reading this slowly because deadline season but loving all the details the movies missed that id completely forgotten about
