Just finished There There (masterful, wow) and am rolling right into its follow-up, Wandering Stars. I’m captivated by the way Tommy Orange knits together history, culture and contemporary realities with a broad range of characters and their points of connection with one another.

I just finished re-reading Octavia Butler’s Parable of the Sower, where Lauren Olamina’s Earthseed envisions humans one day “taking root among the stars.” Is Chambers offering readers a take on an Earthseed future?

Been wanting to read this since reading Babel, and since meeting someone in a coffee shop who raved about it.
