The book is comprised of three short stories, each by a different author.
Candy Cane Murder by Joanna Fluke: I’ve read one other book in this series so the characters were familiar. The story was a good one with a twist I didn’t expect at the end.

The Danger of Candy Canes by Laura Levine: Five chapters in, I am distracted by Jaine’s hyper focus on body sizes and food choices.

First story: ⭐️⭐️
Second story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The audio narrator is TERRIBLE. The 40 year old woman sounds like she is 60. The mom of the brothers is a complete bitch, as is the daughter of the primary character. The premise is intriguing, and that’s the only reason I’m sticking with it.

I’m not sure how the characters being sick adds to the book, but the graphic descriptions of snot and mucus are just disgusting.

The author has used current trendy vernacular in the book and I hate it. It's horrible grammar, and I expect more from a professional. It's definitely inappropriate in a futuristic setting. "No. Just no." "Yeah. But here we are."

The author has taken current vernacular and incorporated it into her book. "No. Just no." I hate the use of it today, and it certainly doesn't fit in a book set in a future time period.

So far ok. My checkout from the library expired so I’ll have to wait to finish it.
