The translanguaging going on in this memoir adds so much depth and heart. The recounting of events happens primarily in English, but the choices of where to integrate Spanish or use Spanish syntax/grammar while speaking in English takes the whole experience to another level. I still can't get over the line of page 74 where he says, "...and because of that I feel alone, lonely, solo, solito, solito de verdad." Tears.
