This legendary book about colonizing Mars is actually a rather boring book about sex attitudes and narcissism with the background of decently researched science. I'll finish it eventually.

Finally getting to this! After the 1700 page slog I just worked through, this book is going super fast.

I've had a lot of trouble getting through this book. It feels like it was written by an over eager, suburban middle schooler. The over explanations are made worse by they way they display the author's ignorance of the material, and the omniscient narrator simply won't stop trying to prove how omniscient he is. Could use about 1/3 less words. A good editor could rescue this with some red ink. I may not finish this.

This book takes place a few decades before the American Civil War. There are aspects that are utterly cringe worthy, but I will reserve judgement until the end.

This is a pretty interesting and short one. Listening to the audio book on my way to and from vacations has been rather enjoyable.

Working on the audio book for over a year now it seems. I suppose if I was reading this it would be much easier to skip the tedium of endless lists of scientific names of underwater creatures.

Since last night seemed not to have been for sleeping I had a chance to read more than a chapter at a time. Although enjoyable up until now, things have definitely leveled up. I very much look forward to see where things head from here.

My reading place has slowed to a crawl after barreling through the Kingkiller books.
