Interesting idea, poorly executed

Re-reading this so I can be ready when the U.S version of the sequel, Red Side Story, comes out in May. I think I liked it better the second time around

I really, really dislike the unreliable narrator style. I felt angry, deceived, and manipulated. And the book isn't worth the pain.

A problem with reading an autobiography of one of your childhood heroes is learning what an was home he truly was. I admired Tug McGraw while I was growing up, even imitating him while I pitched softball games. But his lifestyle was awful. I have to admit, though, that he acknowledged all his failings.
