Meh. It's super corny and the "as you know bob" info dumps are coming thick and fast now... But I'm still reading and will finish it but it's not great plotting or character development so...

Booktok found me and I don't know, maybe this will get me back into reading. Fingers crossed.

The audio sample intrigued me but now I'm disappointed with myself for thinking maybe this is the wildly popular author for me. Firstly, saying a character is psychopathic doesn't make them psychopathic. The most psychopathic thing about Adam is that the narrator makes him sound like Donnie Pfaster from the X-Files. Secondly, I am begging all of these massively popular authors to look up "subtly" and practice it.

Another very popular book I'm just not getting. 30% in and nothing has happened. So much telling, very little showing, and awkward info dumps, some of which are disguised as very awkward conversations.
Is it me? It's starting to feel like it's me.

One's constant referral to one's self as 'one' quickly grows tiresome.

This is my third attempt to start this book. Seems to be holding my attention this time. ;)

That feeling you get when you're so excited by a blurb you hit the purchase button without thought but ten seconds later you realise it's an author you haven't particularly enjoyed in the past...

Seriously, I'm making notes on all the stupidity.

This is not going well. Very hard to keep going. Only the draw of what stupid thing could they possibly do next is keeping me reading.
