So far, things are going fairly well! The complicated Russian names and cultural references are a little hard to remember, but I bought a read-along (“Footnotes & Tangents: War and Peace Slow Read”) and that has been crazy beneficial. I guess I straight up just don’t understand all these simpering rich aristocrats.

I am loving, loving, loving this book. Séverine is like me turned inside out, truly my opposite in every way, a fascinating and flawed and growing young human and I already dread leaving her behind once I’m done.

Wait, this is so fun. And so much better than the movie!!!!!

Effing ridiculous - these careless, ignorant, and weak Kennedy man babies that Massachusetts shamefully spawned. The men of this family are a violent, misogynistic dark cloud that hovers over Massachusetts and casts a cruel shadow over all the women who are unfortunate enough to come close.
