Not Alice finding Peter’s notes and thinking that he is going to trade her life for Prof Grimes’. I’m calling it now; he wants her to do the spell and is planning to sacrifice himself. Alice is a frustrating character because she is not observant. GIRL OPEN YOUR EYESSSS

Instead of speeding thru, the book makes me want to linger on each page and slowly take in each story. The book reads like a collection of memories, all beautiful and painful and so poetically written.

starting to grow tired of Alice rambling on about how condescending she finds Peter. It’s giving one-note. You are a grad student of research; would expect you to have more intellectual humility than that. I get they have a past, but reading about it over and over again makes me start to dislike her. Also, she needs a life outside grad school. Talk about smth else pls!

You know when you are 5 seconds into a book, and you know that right now is the perfect stage in your life to read it?

Being a college student + broke + scared shitless about the future, I am the right mixture of sardonic and nihilistic and optimistic. I also like the fact that I am sardonic and nihilistic (because if I am being honest I think it is cool and smart of me to feel this way hahaha, I can't help it).

Being in my 20s + a college student + broke, I am the right mixture of sardonic and nihilistic and optimistic. I also like the fact that I am sardonic and nihilistic (because I think it is "cool" + smart of me, something like that), so I like this book already. HA

enjoying it so far. Can't help but admire Evelyn's boldness, and Monique's initial hesitation and fear provide a nice foil in a way.

love that it is set in Berkeley

Two things:
There is some sort of pompous quality about Edward and Bella. I get not feeling like you fit in, but the other students are not that bad.

Yes, Bella is this awkward, clumsy but gorgeous girl blah blah, and at seventeen I can see her falling for someone mysterious like Edward. But, Edward you are like hundreds of years old, like chill.

Bella: "I'm seventeen," I responded, a little confused.
Edward: "You don't seem seventeen."

"You're not like other girls" but replace girls with age.

Also, Edward, stop being hella controlling.
