What an overrated book.

The ending was rushed to boot.

Reading this book with an online book club for retirees.
Interesting MC. Very strong willed scientist at a time when women were meant to be seen and not heard (1960s).

This book is definitely the skippable one in the series. Such a drudgery.

I've actually read chapters where nothing of import happened. I'm amazed because this is the seventh book in the series and I can't really remember that happening in consecutive chapters.
Hmph. Jordan was hella good at making annoying af characters.
On I go. No pain, no gain.

The book is off to a slow start.

As usual Jordan’s portrayal of female characters makes them annoying, short-tempered, frustrating, and difficult to stand.

The only female who’s bearable is Egwene. She has much more on her plate and is actually in charge of people whereas the others aren’t.

Others say there’s a 3-book slog somewhere in this 14-book series. Wonder if this book is the beginning.

Ugh...do we really need Faile? Such a drag on the series. What has Perrin done to deserve such a nagging whining ass bitch?

It's about time that Rand is coming around to accept his fate and getting his shit together.

Faile is so annoying…what does Perrin see in her. I don’t know why Jordan felt he had to make the female characters annoying, childish, impossible.

I’m glad to see that Rand is finally coming to accept who he is and what he has to do.

Goodness sake.... they're going to drag this pitiful plot out!!!

They should have wrapped up this series in three.

The plot and characters are unbearable.
