I read the proofs of my first novel as if not a single stroke of the keyboard had been mine. And I’m uncomfortable confessing I am proud. What luck that this novel should come into the world now (started in 2011) inspired by my daughter—borne wanting a different kind of daughter-father exploration, neither relying on the tropes of father-saving-daughter, nor tragedy-takes-father. It’s about Trust and Support.
