Respectfully, if you are going to write a book where characters speak a language you don't speak fluently, please get someone who speaks the language to help.
I'm a Zulu speaking South African woman. Every time Jagger say, "uthando lwami" I cringe.
Uthando lwami is incorrect in this context. What she should have said is sthandwa sami. That is a term of endearment.
