Guys, I'm so confused. Everyone was hating on this because is was falsely advertised as a romantasy (it wasn't) when its a grimdark fantasy. But...the entire main plot is a romance? This thing is like 80% romance. Pretty much everything centers the romance, to the point that I'm annoyed about it rn. Why are ppl mad?

There's no way I'm gonna finish this as it was only a 7 day library hold (for a 19hr audiobook), which sucks because this is really interesting.

Starting with a massive world building info dump for the first (almost) 20% of the book was a wild literary choice..

Def more of a vibes book than a "things happening book" but I'm really enjoying it.

I wish I had a thought in my head but unfortunately I don't know if I've processed a single thing that's happened..I think I like it though?

I forgot how much I love this book.
Im gonan rip my skin off. I'm so excited to be alive at the same time as CMQ rn!

Unfortunately , I also forgot how absolutely terrible the audiobook is. I think I'm just gonna have to be brave and find some time in my day to read it in print.

I don't think Ava Reid can write anything other than instalove but this story is so good that it's not bothering me as much as it has in other works of theirs.

This is literally the plot of Weapons if Aunt Gladys was a 40ft tall Labubu named Lafufu who got jumped and maimed by the village people.

Pls pls pls Ava Reid, pls don't do that thing again where your book is perfect, amazing, etc etc, but then you randomly make the worst decision known to man and ruin it completely.
So far this is my fave book of hers and I NEED to have this win, we've had less and less with each publication and I LOVE her so I NEED this rn.

Not a lot has happened yet but it's v fun.

The plot is killer and I'm living for this pairing BUT the amount that her daughter is brought up or is around during the smut scenes is really making me uncomfortable rn.

Sara your 2 star rating is looming over me at all times. I'm liking this so so much.. I'm very nervous and very frightened of whatever this book did to upset you so.
