Night Surf: I really like this one. The atmosphere in it is absolutely incredible, and i like the feeling of lostness i get from not really knowing what's going on, and which the characters feel due to their circumstances. I only wish it had been a little longer, which isn't something i say often. 4/5 ☆

Just realised the second story is called Graveyard Shift and not Night shift. Oh well (i'm reading the german translation so i just guessed the title)

Night Shift: this one was kinda lame. If Jerusalem's Lot was a 3.5, this is a 2.5 stars.

Jerusalem's Lot: Interesting story, i wonder how it connects to Salem's Lot (also why did Charles call it Salem's Lot a couple times in the story when we never see him learning that name and it's only ever called Jerusalem's Lot otherwise?). Enjoyed the little twist at the end, but found the writing hard to get into at first on account of the letter format.

I'm quite honestly shocked how much i'm enjoying this book

I got this copy from a little free library a few days ago where someone apparently donated Stephen King's entire bibliography (not really, but it sure felt that way). I have a love/hate relationship with King's books (Loved Misery, hated Cujo, enjoyed the Green Mile and The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon, but disliked IT), so reading this could go either way. So far, though, I'm enjoying it.

Many years ago I was on vacation somewhere, i think it was Mauritius, and we had a little bungalow to ourselves, and in the drawer of the bedside table, there was a copy of carrie. I said to my mum that maybe I should read it, and she reacted with disgust because she dislikes anything gorey. So in the end, I didn't read the book, but it stuck in the back of my mind ever since then.

Reading this through a transmasc lens adds a whole other layer i think.

honestly with semi recent revelations about neil gaiman i am proud to have dnf'd good omens many years ago. again this has nothing to do with the book i am updating, i am just using it as a vehicle to treat goodreads like my very own book themed social media

i think if i could post on goodreads without it being tied to reading updates this would become one of my favourite social medias like are you kidding me?? social media but all we talk about is books? that's epic AND i don't even have to make stupid short form video content to participate? that'd be so awesomesauce <3

i wish i could post on goodreads without it having to be tied to a reading update because i just wanna say i'm gonna get so good at dnfing books. i'm gonna value my own time, i'm gonna cut my losses when i'm not enjoying a book, i'm not gonna have a minimum page requirement to dnf a book, i will respect books less and myself more, i am not going to hate read books.
