sometimes i try and speculate on what kinds of books and relationships the author potentially enjoys, based solely on what's going on in here. i know nothing about this author. however, the ghosts of Kanej are speaking to me. i would bet money we have ourselves a fan of six of crows holding the pen here....

if this book wasn't so quick to read, i'd dnf. it's just.... nothing like book 1

this lacks much of the dark whimsy of the first book. lowkey it’s feeling chore-ish.

this book is brutal but it’s incredibly well paced and reads so smoothly (to a degree that’s shocking).
