Struggling with this. Im finding the narrator of the audiobook is putting too much of her personal interpretation of the character's voice into the narration. Also just not loving the story telling in general. Things are just getting a little interesting now so we'll see

Oop possibly I was making the reading experience worse by putting it on double speed like i usually do, moved it down to 1.7 and the cadence has improved

Short sentences. Sounds abrupt sometimes. Might just be how max is narrating. I would've expected a more conversational tone than a fact stating way of speech

Feeling like John mulaneys narration and the 2 hour 2x listening time might be the only reasons I finish this. I may be being too judgmental off the jump, but this humour style is a little boomery so far so im concerned

Not sure how I feel about the immersive sound design, I don't think i need to hear hay and clucking to visualize a chicken tbh

Chapter 19 had some interesting blackmailing but seems to be like everything else in the book, it happened and we move on; there doesnt seem to be a specific goal set or any motion towards a climax, just things happen, life like I guess, but also kinda boring
