Chapter 19 had some interesting blackmailing but seems to be like everything else in the book, it happened and we move on; there doesnt seem to be a specific goal set or any motion towards a climax, just things happen, life like I guess, but also kinda boring

Giving 'Something Close to Magic" by emma mills vibes, in quite a few ways actually, but that's not necessarily a good thing as I found that book kinda mid

Not quite the vibe I was expecting and not appreciating the main character rn but that just means the potential for character growth and the concept of the story has me hopeful

Not really understanding the high rating, I'm not really fuckin with it. So annoying when one character knows everything but just doesn't tell the main character so we have to watch them struggle to find the answers that their colleague already has

Not really sure what the point of this story is; a quest has been introduced but it doesn't even seem to be the main focus. The writing and the main character both seem very juvenile. I'm not hating it I'm just thinking this book should be shorter than 490 pages

Unfortunately not the best rn, I don't love the fmc and I don't think Maas learned about "show don't tell" yet. Not understanding the high rating but everyone says the books get better so we'll see

Violets thoughts on Xaden are so cringey. I'm interested in the plot ig and having some fun but sometimes her snarkiness feels so cheugy; i have found myself grimacing often while listening, though I'll allow that that may be the narrators fault

Clunky ass exposition; let's hope once the world is fully established it's more show than tell
