Short sentences. Sounds abrupt sometimes. Might just be how max is narrating. I would've expected a more conversational tone than a fact stating way of speech

Feeling like John mulaneys narration and the 2 hour 2x listening time might be the only reasons I finish this. I may be being too judgmental off the jump, but this humour style is a little boomery so far so im concerned

Chapter 19 had some interesting blackmailing but seems to be like everything else in the book, it happened and we move on; there doesnt seem to be a specific goal set or any motion towards a climax, just things happen, life like I guess, but also kinda boring

Not really understanding the high rating, I'm not really fuckin with it. So annoying when one character knows everything but just doesn't tell the main character so we have to watch them struggle to find the answers that their colleague already has

Not really sure what the point of this story is; a quest has been introduced but it doesn't even seem to be the main focus. The writing and the main character both seem very juvenile. I'm not hating it I'm just thinking this book should be shorter than 490 pages
