Is the main female character really as stupid as she seems or will she pull her head out the sand? Sheesh. I wanna smack some sense into her

Newlywed couple goes to view a house for sale in a blizzard in a sports car.. so far so good right. Realtor is not there and house is locked. Of course, they find the hidden extra key and still bust in the door. There is no realtor lock box on the door so yeah logical choice. Upstairs light is on in the house and yet they still act surprised the lights come on once they get inside. Am I being too sarcastic?

I'm 68% done and honestly I hate this book so much. I want to know the ending but I seriously hate every single character, the house, the setup. Grr. Should I just Google the ending and quit?

Why is Persephone so gullible? Every person who even hints at something she runs and does it. Their motives are so obvious.
It's so frustrating enjoying the intense connection between her and Hades yet wanting to smack her for her stupidity in the same chapter.
