Tewky is a gem

Sherlock in this feels oddly…traditional. I don’t remember him being so caught up in Victorian mores. I remember him being a delightful anarchist who rubbed elbows with the “wrong people” as well as politicians and kings… WHERE IS MY SHERLOCK T-T

I've discovered another trope I love to write: two strong-minded, protective characters in love who try to out-protect the other...and both end up sounding like absolute idiots who give everyone within radius secondhand embarrassment

and I say this as someone who *hates* secondhand embarrassment

This mangaka does horror so well. The atmosphere and art in her stories is top notch.

Doing a read-along with my eldest niece cuz she loves the movies and wanted the book for her birthday. 🥹 (and yes this delights me, her crazy author aunt)

The way this book is told feels so refreshing to me. It feels like a beautiful mix of what is considered "literary" and what is considered "genre" fiction, and that is just right up my alley. To heck with the publishing boxes!!!

(Not actually. But I do love it when authors can explore outside the bounds of genre, something that is finally becoming more common in trad publishing, huzzah!)

Sci-fi murder mystery told through multiple POVs, including transcripts? YES PLZ. Not to mention the dissection of entertainment culture and its costs.
