How have so many characters changed so drastically in the few weeks between books 2 and 3? Especially Mo??? The fucking gaslighting??? Shame

This book is fucking testing me. How can Mo be so terrible in this one? How could that asshole dismiss his pregnant wife who simply wants to go back to their own world?? Does he really think pregnancy and birth are as safe in a medieval-esque world as in the modern world? Does he know how many women used to die during labour?? He's such a bad father and husband in this one...
