When you have written something—whether part of a story, a poem, an essay, an opening for a longer piece, anything that feels like it might be a keeper— listen to it. What does it sound like? Read your words aloud. Even if you look like a crazy person, it doesn’t matter. No one’s watching . Pay attention to the way the language moves. Is it creating the effect you’re after?

Despite the cultural and historical innacuracies, the plot is getting GOOD. Good enough for me to ALMOST ignore it.

Also... can we talk about the fact that the time period the book is set in is not clear? Like I was thinking 1700's maybe? But then the word trattoria appears and I quote: "Trattoria," first appeared in 1832" SO TF KNOWS. I can't even imagine what the characters are wearing because of it.

The beginning... kinda slow

The lack of editing in this book. "Como estas" without accent marks? Really?
