- The concept is a little bit off. Vampires and zombies have weird combinations. The story has a lot of potential, but the idea was messy and of course house of the night is not deemed evil. House of night represents light. The pertaining to darkness was so stupid.

After reading the first 12 books of the House of Night Series, I think this book is fast-paced.

As I am progressing through the story, it is more like a science textbook than fiction. Compared to the Martian, the story itself has a little science despite it being science fiction. The writer focuses on too much technical. I must say I am overwhelmed and when I read 10 pages, I need a break for at least 30 minutes to think about the technical aspects of the book.
