something i picked up at random to read in tandem with Babel. it does its job of keeping me sane.

i have a rule now where i'd only mark a book as 'currently reading' if/when i make it to the 50% mark. god knows i start way more books than i could ever finish.

as for Babel, wow! i thoroughly enjoyed Yellowface, thought it was brilliant, but now that I'm digging into Babel, I can understand why people say the two belong in different leagues. i can literally feel my brain expanding reading this book. on we go!

half-way through but honestly this book put me in such a bad reading slump that, tried as i might, i could not muster up the motivation to finish it. will definitely revisit it when i have more brain power though.

Sad to say I DNF this… I find the dialogues unrealistic (people actually talk like this ???) and the characters quite one-dimensional. Had high hopes but was deeply disappointed.

currently listening to the audiobook. currently wondering if this book is worth the hype.

I picked up this book because everyone says this has Knives Out vibes but … this is.. the… exact … copy.. of… Knives… Out???? Like if someone just gave me this out of the blues and said this was the book that Knives Out was based on, I would totally fall for it?? My other problem with this is that the main character Avery is such a PICK ME. Thinking about DNF-ing…

This book gives me anxiety, don’t know why, can’t make it through more than 20-30 pages at a time. Doesn’t mean that I don’t like it though, just means that I’m REALLY taking my time with it…

Having skimmed through some of the good and bad reviews for this book, will try to take the author's points with a grain of salt and instead merely use them as pointers for further research!

DNF this because the narrator of the audiobook is HORRIBLE and I don't exactly care enough about the plot to turn to the ebook and finish it. Love the main characters and their chemistry though, just got completely ruined by the horrendous narrating 🥱
