Loved this book even better than the first! Packed with action, suspense and political intrigue. I couldn’t stop turning the pages. Love Brad Pierce and can’t wait for the next Colin Frost adventure.

I really enjoyed this book. I loved the character development and the author’s writing style. It was amazing to read a novel with a trans narrator and a multiple queer relationships. I really connected with the time traveling Darby did when he entered the bookstore. It resonated with me because I always feel like there is a little bit of magic in every bookstore and library. I have already recommended this book.

Loved this book! So beautiful.

A tragic story written with accuracy and care. Could a love have lasted and a life been saved if we had known more about treating mental illness? We’ll never know.

Trigger warnings

I really enjoyed this book. It brought humanity and relatability to the characters in a way that enhanced my understanding of the time frame. Even though it was “normal” in the south in the early 1800’s, I was still triggered by the fact that none of the characters expressed discomfort with the ownership and treatment of the enslaved characters. Not even Sally, who was my favorite character.
