Don’t use this to tag moments much, but gotdamn, “Slut of the world”…as a way of capturing that all encompassing, intensive obsession of young love…that indescribable feeling of abandon of who you are or who you knew, and know, yourself to be in the eyes and attention of a lover. I cheered out loud when Stoner and Katherine met. What a goddamn treasure of a novel.

It’s finally time. You can imagine my shock when a few minutes in I realized “Lonesome Dove” is a place and not the pet name of a lovesick romantic lead character. I completely misread this cover as a kid…
