DNF. Not connecting with the story or characters and after setting it aside a while, now I just can't get back into it.

That's it, DNF. Initially the story had promise, but ultimately the main character comes across as a male chauvinist, a homophobe, and a war criminal. No way I can root for a character like that.

This is satisfyingly more cerebral than most modern sci-fi. Not much action, but plenty of intrigue. Fascinating future world.

Surprisingly good start...

I found the beginning of this story a bit confusing. It started out very game-world immersed and I am not a gamer. Also, a little more scene setting would have helped. But I think it is starting to hit its stride now.

Gosh, I'm on the last chapter and I want to finish this book. It has been a good read. Unfortunately I have to stop cause I'm about to fall asleep! Ill polish it off tomorrow...

It Ain't Over...Oh Yes it IS! Big Ole DNF half way through. I can't take all the "convenient coincidences", "last minute miracles", and "found fortunes". And don't get me started on the main character's juvenile arrogance and automatic (undeserved) authority. Sheesh. Guess this one worked me up! Now I'm Over It!

DNF. How disappointing. The book just gets too dark and the abusive behavior too depraved as the story progresses.

The writing, characters and story are excellent, but I am not a fan of reading books that include extremely abusive behavior, especially when directed at vulnerable characters/people. There's already too much of that in the real world for me to seek it as entertainment. So far, I'm continuing in hope the abuser gets what he deserves and the MC wins in the end.

Boy is the writing thick with British cultural references. Took a bit to switch hats. Kind of love that. Also enjoy how the story reminds me of life from my years in New York City.

The first paragraph of the first page has me laughing out loud. Now that's promising!
