So far, it seems like a fair amount of these stories are the sort which populated magazines in the old days - entertaining and workmanlike, but not memorable.

So far, this is quite entertaining and much better than I expected. Loads of tongue in cheek jokes but they don't get in the way of the plot movement.

The bickering and shifts of tone are more annoying here than the first book because I know someone is in danger. Also the repetition- I think that by this point in the second book I do not need to be constantly reminded that Beatrice Is Poisonous.

So far this is very absorbing. Couched as an autobiography it is fictionalized, but i suspect still close enough to Poole's own experiences that it gains life. A novel of political conversion to be certain, but a fine one.

If Lovecraft wrote an espionage horror novel about Fight Club.......Nahhh, I'm not feeling it either

So far, very good. A mystery with a touch of Dan Brown about it, but with much better characters and an excellent writing style. If this ends up as well as it is shaping up, I'll be reading more by Rosanne Dingli for certain.

Just starting - good writing, but I'm already sensing a late 20th C. sensibility in this early 20th C. woman - perhaps too much.

Well written, witty at times, but after a good opening it is very slow. Strangely enough once the main characters start traveling the action ceases- all I've read is a string of arguments and internal monologues of self doubt. At the mid point the plot seems to be picking up (there's a trial about to start) so I'll hope for the best.

Intermittently funny, but it seems to go on forever. An overly complex caper book - admittedly the over complexity is part of the plot, but it's just too much. I'll finish this but I'll be goddamed if I read anything else by Cash Peters.

Entertaining, but sometimes the jokes seem a bit forced. I feel the same was about Cash Peters' travel commentary.

So far, good - hardboiled detective genre with a paranormal twist. This is not a new genre, but Levesque writes very well.
